Happy Halloween!

Today was a fun but wild day. The kiddos everywhere were too excited about it being Halloween. I am so thankful that it was on a Friday this year, so that they will all be wound down again by Monday. My mom and John took Jace to his school trick or treating event where they load them in a buggy and wheel them around to local businesses. Afterwards they came up to the school for mom to read a story to Kylan's class and my class. They then ran to Sonic and grabbed a bite to bring to us a school. Kylan was thrilled that he got so much attention today, lol. Kylan's class also did a pumpkin carving and counted seeds. Our aide was sweet to take pictures for me. We then came home long enough to change and head to get pictures made. Kylan was adamant that he did not want to be in them, so mom and I took Jace only. The lady that took our family pictures in September was running a special for Halloween so we decided why not. Kylan and John wanted to finish up on a Jack-0-Lantern that they had started. We then came home to meet John and Kylan and head out trick or treating. It was a fun night, but I am already ready for bed.

Creepy but Cute Spiders

Christina sent me a picture of the cutest spiders ever. Mine of course favor them somewhat, but not nearly as cute as the picture. I am such a procrastinator and didn't have all of the supplies here at home to make them as good as the originals, but they will work. It is a good thing Jace only has 8 in his room and 2 teachers, because otherwise I don't think I would have had them done in time. I am not feeling well again, and the stomach virus is going around down in our Kindergarten wing, so please send up an extra prayer for me and the fam to stay healthy. Kylan and I had perfect attendance last 9 weeks and would like to keep it that way for now. I think that I will probably end up taking a personal day to do some Christmas shopping sometime mid-November but still would rather my day be for that and not sickness. Oh, and by the way, I am not posting the original spiders, they put mine to shame, lol! Thanks Christina for the cute idea!

Slacker

Okay, for those of you who have time to check my blog daily I have been a slacker for sure. I'm sorry about that. It has been a busy week already and today is just Wednesday. I thought once soccer season was over that it would slow down. Instead I think it is speeding up. Monday Kylan started Taekwondo on Monday. He said he had a lot of fun, and then burst into tears saying he didn't want to go back. He had to do a lot of watching because they are practicing for a tournament and he didn't know what to do either. Both of these things apparantly led to his much understood frustration. I told him that he wasn't suppose to know what to do yet, and that they wouldn't always be doing what they did on Mon. I let him get a practice uniform and his white one that he will need online. He chose red (which they were out of) so instead chose black. I think this eased him a little. I didn't take him to his lesson Mon. but will tomorrow. That has helped as well. He keeps asking if I am going tomorrow and I keep reassuring him that yes I am going. I told him that he needed to atleast give it a month to learn a few things before we make any decisions about continuing lessons. At school this week we have been dressing up for Red Ribbon Week. Monday was patriotic day and Tues. was 50's day. I had a parent that came to my class and made us "purple and choc. cows." aka purple soda/coke floats. She also brought us some 50's music to boogey to. It was a lot of fun. I love that era of music. Today was hat day, tomorrow camo day and Friday school spirit. I haven't taken many pictures this week, my memory cards are getting full (sad that I take that many pictures I know.) I also had Mother's club Monday night and my Extension club meeting tomorrow night after Kylan's lesson. Then of course Friday is trick-or-treating with my sweet pumpkinheads. My mom and John are taking Jace to his school party on Friday since he usually doesn't go on Fridays. They are then coming to my school for mom to read a felt board story to Kylan's class and my class. Then they will be eating lunch with Kylan for a treat. I will hopefully get some pictures then.

What a busy weekend!!!

A little catch up time is in order again. Friday us girls cancelled bunco and had a girls night instead. We had a great time talking and catching up with each other. Saturday was a busy day. John took Gatlin and Kylan to some mud races. They later told me it was a lot of fun. Mom, Jace, and I however, opted to go shopping instead. I haven't really been shopping in a loooong time. Our first stop was to a furniture store where mom has been eyeing a new buffet for her dining room. It was a success stopping there (mom got one on sale and even more of a discount because it was the last one)...until we left. The parking was TERRIBLE there, so mom and I were watching 3 different vehicles when we were backing out of the lot. I managed to dodge all 3 but then we heard and felt a loud BOOM! I just knew that there was a small car crushed behind me. Luckily it was just a pole in my blind spot. Mom and I jumped out ready to see a huge dent in my back bumper, but to our surprise, it was just barely pushed in. The blunt of the impact was on the hitch so it didn't do much damage at all. In fact, unless it is very carefully pointed out, you can't even tell. I decided that since we were so fortunate and all that John didn't need to know about my minor mishap. I don't think he would have been upset, but would have given me a speech about how I had to be careful and look EVERYWHERE before backing out. Remember, this is the second thing that I had backed into, the small trailer being the first the week I got the truck. Thank goodness the Lord is always looking out for me and my family. We managed to get over our sick stomachs and nerves and have a fun rest of the day. I was excited to get the boys some deals at Dillard's and the Gap, and even managed to find me a cute dress. Mom and I also bought groceries, oh and I got 2 new yards of fabric, which always makes me happy. As soon as we got home, the boys came running out to help me unload, which was very thoughtful of course. We then rushed to put away groceries so that we could head to town to eat supper and watch the game with friends. We (as well as all 5 boys amongst us) had a great time. Today was church and my grandma's birthday. After church we went to visit her. Then we all stayed outside for awhile so that the boys could play on this beautiful day. My camera was MIA this weekend. I only managed one picture of Jace tonight. He was carrying water bottles to the laundry basket that I had just emptied and managed to get stuck in there with them. I am also posting a picture of one of the cute outfits that I LOVE of Kylan's.

P/T conferences

Today was a LONG day. Schools dismissed at 2 so that we could start Parent/Teacher conferences at 2:10. It makes for a long day when you don't get out until 7, but hey it could be worse. I can't and won't complain about my work hours. Plus, it is only twice a year that we conference. We are SUPER proud of Kylan with his report with all S's. He didn't see anything important about a "port card", until Gammy started asking him how many S's he got because she would give him a quarter for everyone that he had, plus on for perfect attendance. A quarter may not be much to us, but Kylan started counting right away. Tomorrow is inservice, and John will have both boys. Someone may want to call and check on him tomorrow to make sure he is not tied up in a closet somewhere, lol.

Soccer out...Karate in

Tonight was the final night for soccer. Our little team kicked butt too! They "won" their game and had a GREAT time. Kylan even took one for the team when he was goalie. He was hit in his "area" and danced around for a minute acting goofy. I was quite embarrassed at his charade, but it was a little funny. We had a great time enjoying the games this season, even if Kylan really didn't want to play. He received his last snow cone for the season tonight, and couldn't have been more thrilled. I will say it again though, if all we had to do was buy snowcones for him to play, then it was worth it! Well, now it is off to karate. Kylan will start his first lesson on Monday. We will see how it goes. He has actually begged to do this since last soccer season, so maybe since he is the one that is so interested then he will do well.

Costumes revealed!!!

Okay you guys did well on the peacock, but the other is MONKEY!!! An elephant would have been super cute though! I showed the other teachers at school today these pics and they all said peacock. John and my dad however say NO WAY!!! I think he looks pretty darn cute in either, but then again I'm his momma! Kylan for now says that he will be a transformer again this year, which is great, saves me money for an 1 hr. event. We usually just go house to house on our road and then to the Parker Homestead and then call it a night.

Sneak Peek!

Let's see how good you are at guessing games. I actually made it pretty easy. Ok, I have two choices of costumes for Jace this year. I am posting a portion of each costume. Comment your guess to what they are and then I will post pictures of him in each costume and you guys can vote on what we wear on Halloween night!

17 months today

Today Jace is officially 17 months old. Wow time flies. Then next month will mark my baby being 1 1/2 yrs. old! GOSH!!! I had to take a few pictures tonight to mark the occasion, small though it may be. They aren't the best, but they work. Tonight also marked the night of our awards ceremony for the soccer season. I can't post any of those pictures tonight, because I let the other coach's wife take my scan disk to may copies to a disk for me. I'm so proud she is copying them for me. She got a few of the mothers' disks that way we can all have copies of each others pictures from throughout the season. So sweet of her! I can't wait to see them all. I should be able to post some pictures tomorrow of the ceremony tonight. Our last game will be tomorrow night. It has been a lot of fun to watch the kiddos, and I think John had a really good time helping coach this year.

Halloween party pics

Here are some of the pictures from the Halloween party last night. I wish I could take credit for all of the cute cakes and cookies, but I can't. Ashley did a great job on the cakes! The kids had a great time, running around, dancing to the Monster Mash, and of course eating. I am also posting some pictures that I took after church of Jace and some pumpkins. We haven't been to a pumpkin patch yet, so these will have to do for now. Kylan wasn't home, he went to his Andee's to see her puppies that their stray dog had. I hope to get some good fall pics of the boys soon.
