Jace's visit to the ER

Thursday night the boys and I played outside until John got home. Kylan went to throw and old jug to the dog, who of course, takes off full speed to fetch it. Jace just happened to be in the way. He hit the ground hard and I knew it hurt. I got him up and didn't see any bumps or red spots. I got him cleaned up and he was off playing again in 10 minutes. He was doing fine and honestly I didn't think any more of it. John came home and took the boys to Kylan's last ballgame and I went to bunco. I didn't even think to tell John about it because he acted just fine. When I left school yesterday I had a message from John saying that his forehead had a bump that looked bad. He had a mosquito bite on it already and swells up with those so John just thought that was what it was from. I came home and Jace was with my mom at my grandma's house. When she brought him over I started freaking out because it looked horrible. I automatically remembered when he fell from the dog. I called a nurse friend and she was concerned because the bump waited until the day after to pop up. She works for our doctor and said she would call her. Our doc. said the same thing and so we headed to the ER for a possible CT scan. We really didn't have to wait long, and in fact were in and out in less than 2 hrs. I believe. The doc. checked him out...his eyes, ears, nose, etc. He said since he was acting normal and showing no signs of being lethargic, vomiting, etc. that they wouldn't do a CT scan because of the amount of radiation. They said just to keep an eye on him for the next 24 hrs. for those signs. So far so good. Bless his heart though, today his eye is half swollen shuts and he just looks pitiful. They said he would probably look rough the next couple of days. We are just so thankful that the good Lord was watching over him and all of our praise goes to him.

Haircuts

Today I took the boys for haircuts. Kylan had to have his usual hair spiked up. Jace was SUCH a BIG BOY!!! He sat so nice and never fussed once while getting his haircut. Wish I could say the same for before it was his turn. He is now getting to the point to where he likes to say no and have tantrums. Oh the joys of being "2".

Memorial Day Memories

Today started out by me being lazy. We didn't get up until 10:00, which was NICE!!! We piddled around all day, until I finally got motivated to clean out my closet. Three huge trash bags later I feel much better. I am realizing that I spend way to much on clothes. We went tonight to Angela and Jeremy's for the best ribs, hamburgers, and hot dogs straight off the grill. YUMMY! The kids had fun playing together as always.

Graduation Supper

Last night at church we held a supper to honor the Senior and Kindergarten graduates of 2009. The church always presents the grads with new bibles. Kylan also ended up with lots of cash and goodies. He was very excited!

Jace's invites

I have been wanting to post Jace's invite but for some reason could not get the picture to save. Christina has it posted on her sight now so I borrowed it and saved it from there! I am so thankful she does my invites for me. I always get the best compliments on them!!!

Fun, Fun!

Today was a busy day. We started out with a birthday party at the park this morning. We came home long enough to gather up some things and get last minute stuff ready for Jace's birthday party. He enjoyed visiting with lots of family and a few close friends. He got so many things and LOVED them all! Oh, before I forget...Jace's cake is made by Amy Shumate. You can check out some of her cakes on A Piece of Cake on my sidebar.

1st Home Run

Kylan actually paid really good attention during the ballgame. He is getting much, much better at focusing and actually playing instead of kicking in the dirt. He hit his first home run and was super proud and excited (as were we!)

Field Day

Today was Field Day at school. Kylan's games were the sponge race and tug-a-war. His Gammy came to watch him play. All of the kids had a great time, though I think all of us teachers were exhausted by the time it was over with!

Happy 2nd Birthday Jace

I took a personal day off today to spend with Jace. I can not believe that he is 2 already. Time flies!!! I had all intentions of taking my time today in town getting some b-day treats for his treat bags for school tomorrow and taking him to the park. Well...things didn't go as planned (do they ever?) Mom, Jace, and I went to Kohl's first. Not much open that early in the morning. We left for town as soon as we dropped Kylan off for school. We then decided to go to the mall for a little while. After walking out of Dillard's I started looking for my car keys. Much to my dismay I couldn't find them. I had been in high heels all morning mind you and my feet were already killing me. And yes, I should have known better, but I never get to wear cute heels anymore being on my feet all day at school. First off I decided to go back in and by some sandals. We then back tracked EVERY single store that we had been to with no luck. I called John b/c I didn't know what to do. We didn't receive but one key when we bought the Tahoe. So..John calls a lock service to come unlock my truck and make me a key ($125 mind you.) I was sick. While he came to the mall where we were waiting he decided to go out to the truck to wait. Mom and I decide to go ahead and head out that way since the guy was suppose to be on his way. We decided to check Target one more time because it was the first store that we went to. The lady said she only had keys that were turned in yesterday. Mom asked if she could go ahead and look at them and lo and behold...MY KEYS!!! I called John and told him that we were on our way out with them. The lock guy had already unlocked my truck but had not made the extra key yet so we ended up only paying the $25. Better than the $125 at least. We then had to rush to finish our errands so that we could get back in time to pick up Kylan. It wasn't the ideal way to spend Jace's birthday, but at least I did get to spend it with him. We celebrated with family tonight with a small cake and a couple of hot wheel cars for him to open since his party is not until Saturday. It was hilarious to watch him with the sparkler candles!

Happy Birthday sweet Jace! I LOVE YOU!!!
