Celebration

We went to church as usual this morning. After church we went to Andrea and Mackey's house to celebrate his birthday. We had a delicious lunch of grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, chip and dip, etc. AND....two desserts. We had a cookie cake and a choc. desert cake. YUMMY! I was stuffed. After that we came home and got the rest of our stuff packed and the kids bathed and then headed off to Gatlin's church for his VBS program. He did a great job! Now we are home, and waiting patiently for 2:00 a.m. to get here so that we can hit the road to Destin. Okay, so we aren't waiting patiently, but we are waiting, lol! Anyway, we are SUPPOSE to have internet service at the condo, so hopefully I can update daily, which will probably be late at night when I get the chance to update. I hope that I can and feel like it, b/c I really don't want to have to upload a ton of pictures when I get home. If you need me email me.....otherwise I am out of pocket, and the phone is for emergencies only, lol! Hope you guys have a wonderful week, even if you aren't on the beach! I'll be thinking of you...well maybe, lol.

Sneak Peek

Here are some pictures of the condo we are staying in. I got these from their website. I hope it actually looks like this when we get there, lol!

Sunny Saturday

Jace decided he did not want to sleep in for the second day in a roll. However, this morning was even earlier than yesterday. We got up about 4:45 this morning. I gave him some teething tablets. His bottom two molars have been coming through for a while now, and are really bothering him. At 7:30 I woke up John and let him take over. I went back to bed and got to sleep until 9 or so, which was fabulous. We got up and around and got the house cleaned and got packed for Monday. Well, all that we could get packed. We are leaving at 2:00 a.m. Monday morning so we want to be able to load everything up tomorrow night so all we have to do Mon. is get up, brush our teeth and hit the road. We then went and cleaned the church and then headed to sweet, little, Ruby Kate's birthday party. She will turn one next week. It was a swimming party and the boys had a great time. Jace didn't care for the water at first and just wanted to keep getting out, but he finally came around and splashed around. Stacy had the best and most creative idea for Ruby Kate's birthday. I only wish that I would have thought about it for Jace's birthday. She painted a little desk and put Ruby Kate's handprint and the number 1 beside it. Then every birthday from here on out she will do another one. What a sweet and memorable birthday idea. Not to mention something that she will treasure the rest of her life. Great idea Stacy, I loved it! After the swim party we headed to John's parents to eat supper and visit. They wanted to see the boys before we headed off for vacation. My mother in law cooked bbq ribs, homemade french fries and an italian salad like mix with tomatoes, brocolli, and cucumbers. It was all delish!

more projects

I promise that I am not going to turn this blog into a daily showing of crafts, lol. In fact, eventually I would like to have my own blog page for my creations, just in case anybody wanted to place some orders. For now though, I will try my best to not put too much of my stuff on this blog. Today I thought that we would sleep in since it was John's first Friday off of work for the new four day work week, but that didn't happen. Well, it did for John, but the boys and I got up around 8, which I consider early for a Friday morning. Oh well, it should be my turn to sleep in late tomorrow, lol. We took it easy and didn't rush to town, but I had tons of minor errands so we didn't wait around all day either. In fact, we even ended up home around 5 which is early for us on a Friday night. We got a few things for vacation and then came home and started packing all that we could. I just don't want to wait around until the last minute to get everything done. After Jace went to bed, I started my sewing for the night. I did this last night as well. Tonight I decided to do a couple of girly burpcloths, well kinda, the skeleton one is a little punk rock I guess, but pink, so still girly. I think the zebra one would be super cute with a name on it in hot pink! I guess I am done for the night, so good night if you are reading this.

Jack and the Beanstalk

Today we went to see Jack and the Beanstalk. We picked up Angela and her girls on the way, so Kylan was excited about them going. Tiff and Sam met us up there. Sam was in my class last year, and I could't believe how much he has grown just over the summer! He is a sweetheart. We had GREAT seats....second row from the stage. Jace worried me a little when he teared up seeing the "cow," but ended up sitting through the whole things wonderfully. It was a cute play and the kids really seemed to enjoy it. Kylan didn't care to get autographs until he saw that Maggie was getting them, and then he was all about it. It is so much fun watching the kids and how they take everything in. We had a great time, but now it is time for some cleaning. I want to get the house in perfect order before we leave for vacation.

Another project....

Okay, so I have been eyeing this fabric for a really long time because I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it all. It was on sale last night for 30% off so I decided to go ahead and purchase it. I was dying to make something out of it and decided that coordinating burp cloths would be too cute. I thought they turned out really adorable and had to post them! Let me know what you think!

The project of the day!

Today I had a workshop that was not fun at all, but atleast I had friends to talk to there. (The only positive out of the whole thing) Other than that, I don't have anything to post, except another picture of a name that I made for a friend. I thought it turned out really cute, and I love the colors she picked out!!!

Another busy day

I got up this morning and got the boys ready to hit the library. This was the last summer program so I really wanted to make sure they got to attend. We will miss the party next week since we will be in Destin, but hey the beach beats the library anyday. The boys got to make butterflies this week. Kylan checked out more books. He loves the informational books, which of course is typical for little boys, but it still amazes me how he goes to that section of books everytime. After the library we ran by Sonic and grabbed a bite to eat, and then it was off to work in my classroom. I really didn't think I would be able to stay long at the school with the boys, but they surprised me and we stayed for about three hrs. I didn't get a lot accomplished but did feel better about getting a few things cleaned up. Jace fell asleep as soon as we got in the truck headed home. Kylan and I read a few of his books. The main one he wanted to read was about dangerous ocean animals. I probably should have snuck this one out of the pile when we checked out at the library, since he will now be terrified to step foot in the ocean next week, lol! I then took the boys to my mom's house so that I could meet up with some friends for a surprise birthday supper. Happy early Birthday Lindsey! John was late from work, but my mom didn't have to keep them long, and she was sweet and cooked supper for John and the boys.I got home in time to play with the boys before bed, which I am always thankful for! My favorite thing in the world is spend time with my boys!

A day in the dumps

Landfill puppets

Just kidding...I was at the landfill today for a workshop on recycling, reusing, and reducing though. It was quite interesting. First of all, my confirmation print-out stated that the workshop was from 8-2. I got there to find out that it actually didn't begin until 8:30 and didn't end until 2:30. Also, we were suppose to bring our own supplies, and bring our lunch. For some reason the local co-op was suppose to inform us all of these changes, but failed to do so. In fact, many teachers confirmations said 8-12, so they were in for a big surprise. Luckily the presenters had enough supplies for us and they did let us go grab a quick bite to eat. I had a granola bar and candy bar in my purse so I opted to stay, and was starving by the time I got home. We did get to leave at 1:45 atleast. Some of the teachers took a tour of the landfill. I, along with over half of the rest of the class, decided to stay in the air conditioned building and color our "projects." We had to make some puppets out of "trash" and odds-n-ends to take back to our classrooms along with poems, songs, etc. When I got home I showed Kylan my "art" for the day, and he decided to finish his leaf man that we were going to make a few days ago, like in a book he read. He also wanted to make some "creations" himself. I gave him my low temp glue gun and plenty of supplies and let him have at it. Tonight I had a club meeting, so it has been a busy day. I don't think tomorrow will be any less busy, however atleast I am not at a workshop all day again until Wed. YAY!

14 Months.

Today my little Jacer, as I like to call him, lol, is 14 months old! I can not believe it, everytime the 20th rolls around and he is a month older. He is now walking so much more than crawling, and it is the sweetest thing a mother can witness. Well, among every other cute thing he does. :) We started off the day by going to church where this Sunday was suppose to be a little different. We were going to have a special speaker/singer come this morning and have a time of testimonials as well, and then lunch at the church. Well, 11 rolled around and our speaker never showed up. We are all hoping and praying that maybe he simply forgot, and that there was no bad emergency or anything. We went ahead and sang some extra songs and ate early. There were no scheduled services for tonight since we had the activities this morning. After church, Jace and I took a long nap, and I mean long. Jace slept for 4 hrs. I only slept two, but it was wonderful. After a while my parents came over to visit for a little while and then we headed up to my sis and bro. in laws to visit for a little while. I see why we don't "visit" much. Jace was in to EVERYTHING of course, and I was constantly chasing after him. It is so true what they say about babies walking.....that you want them to so bad, and then you are wishing that they aren't quite so mobile, lol! I am really glad though that he has finally graced us with walking these last couple of weeks. I have a busy week ahead before we leave for Destin. I have workshops tomorrow and Wednesday, and activites for the boys on Tues. and Thurs. We will see how it all goes......

ASU Early Childhood reunion

A few of us girls from the Dec. 05 Early Childhood program decided to get together and met for supper at Colton's to catch up on each other's lives. Several of the girls were out of town, but there still ended up being 8 of us that were able to meet. It was interesting and a lot of fun to catch up and even see some pictures of the kiddos. It was so great seeing everyone and we decided that we defiantly needed to do it again! Oh, and Chandra and I were even a little devious and had them sing Happy Birthday to Shea since her birthday is tomorrow! Happy Birthday tomorrow Shea, love ya!

Business Cards

These are my FABULOUS business cards that my friend Christina made me for the custom baby gifts that I have been creating, such as the taggies, burp clothes, letter names, bow holders, etc. She made them where I can put a price on the back. I am super excited about these coming in. They should be in on Monday at the latest. She always does the best work, and if you need anything you can look at all of her custom creations on her blog spot, distinctly pink on my blog roll. She stays super busy with all of her stuff, but again she is AWESOME and if you let her know in advance I'm sure she can create something great for you as well. Thanks Christina for all you do for me!

Friday Frenzy

Okay, so I didn't realize that it would be such a big deal to buy a backpack for Kindergarten. Boy was I wrong. First of all, our school prefers clear or mesh ones. I really am cheap and didn't want to spend a lot because afterall Kylan will probably have the thing torn up after the first week of school. We searched several places in the mall to find one, with no luck. The ones at Walmart are okay, but from personal experience with my Kindergartners in the classroom, they do not hold up well. We decided to go to Shoe Carnival and found some Nike backpacks. Kylan of course wanted the $40 one. I said no way, which of course upset him, but he got over it. We opted for the $30 instead. It ended up being on sale for $22, YAY! When got home from town Kylan had to organize all of his stuff in it. He was also excited about getting his nap pad. He loves all of the new stuff but is still NOT ready to start Kindergarten. I asked him if he was excited about being with me at my school, and he said no, he would rather stay at home, lol! I also got some great deals tonight at The Children's Place on school clothes. John decided he wanted chinese for supper. Andrea was still in town so we decided to take her out with us to eat. It was nice for her to join us, and Kylan of course loved it. Now we are at home, relaxing, and about to watch a movie. Oh, also to leave on a postive note....Today was John's last Friday to work. Usually he gets off of work at 11 on Fridays, but they have decided b/c of gas prices that they will now go in a 6 M-TH and have Fridays off. This is AWESOME b/c now Jace won't have to go to daycare on Fridays! YAY!!!!

Bountiful Bunco

Tonight we had plenty of folks and plenty of buncos. We didn't actually get started playing until 7:40. It started at 6:30, but with 15 girls talking it doens't always work that well. This is the biggest crowd we have ever had, but it is always so much more fun with lots of people. We had girls yelling out bunco left and right with a total of 32 buncos in one night. I think that we had more tonight than the entire time we have been playing. I hope our group continues to grow!!!
