Back to reality.....

Today and yesterday brought reality back quicker than I wanted, but it's here, so I will deal with it,lol. Today was church as usual. Church is getting a little harder every Sunday. Jace is getting harder to keep quite and still. Whew, I didn't realized it started this soon. I don't remember when Kylan started this, it was too long ago. After church we went to my parents to eat and then headed to Jonesboro to get some groceries, b/c our cubbards are bare. John wanted to go yesterday, but after the 10 hr. drive home Friday night, I didn't think the boys were up for it. Heck, I wasn't up for it. We ran to the mall first to order my birthday present, though my birthday isn't until Sept.27th. (keep that date in mind for presents!...kidding) John was in the buying mood and wanted to go get them. I should keep it a secret since my birthday is so far away, but I'm too excited, and a little shocked that John wanted to get them for me so soon. He got me two new wedding bands. I have a set now, but they don't really match my setting. They worked for the time being, but I have really been wanting new ones for a little while now. They were on sale until Sept. 1st so John wanted to go ahead and get them today. Plus we didn't know how long it would take, plus sizing them. They surprised us when they said they should be here the 12th at the lastest. Anyway, after that we went to walmart and got groceries and then headed back to church. After church is when we had a good laughing moment with Jace. He has figured out that he can put his fingers up his nose, AND thinks it is the funniest thing ever. Hmmmm, any ideas on how to stop this?????

We're Back!

I know you are having Amber blog withdraws aren't you? Just kidding!!! Okay,I am going to try my best to get the right pictures with the right days. It woud have been soooo much easier if I would have remembered my laptop. I did't want to bring my bro. in laws b/c I didn't want to be responsible if something happened. I can't guarentee that mine would have worked anyway, it hasn't been working at home. ANYWAY...here is our week in review, and I have to worn you I just saved over 500 pictues to my computer. I can't even begin to post even 1/4 of them, so if you see me anytime soon I might can have them all in an album if you are interested. Also, my internet has not been working AT ALL so I am going to go ahead and post and then add pictures as it lets me. Okay, so here goes.......

Destin, here we come!

We got up at around 1:45 to get the kids loaded and pick up mom and dad, and to hit the road. We ended up leaving at 2:15. We made great timing and the boys did WONDERFUL!!! I could not have asked for them to do any better than they did. We arrived in Destin at noon. Our condo wasn't suppose to be ready until 3, but we decided to find it and atleast check in. We were surprised to find out that it was ready and waiting for us. We got everything taken to our unit, and was very pleased that it was excactly as the pictures had shown. Beautiful and trendy! We decided to eat a bite and then we headed for the beach! It was wonderful! We saw jellyfish left and right, some as big as paper plates, but decided to just try and avoid them the best that we could. The boys LOVED it and I was so proud of their reactions. Jace just played and played in the sand. The ocean was perfect! After several hours on the beach and in the ocean we decided to hit Walmart and get some groceries, inner tubes, play things, etc. We then headed back to the beach for a nice walk. I think that this will be a vacation that atleast Kylan won't forget.

long wait

We headed to the beach again first thing this morning, and stayed out for a long time. We made a huge lobster out of sand, and lots of people came over to take pictures of it or with it. We also swam in the pool for awhile after seeing so many jellyfish. They were EVERYWHERE!!! We also decided to go on a Dolphin cruise. Kylan wanted to see the dolphins do tricks, which of course they didn't. We were just glad to see them. The only thing was that we all (grown-ups anyway) got seasick. My poor dad even got sick enough to throw up, along with another lady. I felt sooooo bad. Kylan didn't even care that much about the dolphins when we finally found them. He had been eating snacks and decided to start throwing them to the seagulls. They were catching his snacks mid-air, which he thought was the coolest thing ever. After the cruise we decided to head back to the condo for a little while to calm everyones stomachs. We later decided to go out and eat some supper. Kylan wanted to go to Fudpuckers since they had an alligator farm, but the wait line was 2 1/2 hrs. We drove to several other places, whom also had a long wait line. We finally found a Olive Garden that had a wait line of 10 minutes, so we went there instead. We didn't realize how long it would take everywhere. After supper we walked off all of those calories with a nice long walk on the beach.

Fudpuckers and outlet shopping

Today we started out at the beach again. The jellyfish were stinging like crazy. We didn't see them so we didn't know that they were out. We asked the guy who worked at the beach, putting up umbrellas, why we were itching and stinging like crazy. He said it was tiny jellyfish that you couldn't really see that well and that they were really bad right now. We stayed out in the ocean as long as we could, but the jellyfish got the best of us and we headed to the pool. We also decided to try to eat at Fudpuckers again. It was a success. No wait at all. Kylan had a fun time feeding the alligators and holding one. Jace even got a kick out of the alligator. We then decided that since we were out we would hit the outlet malls. I got lots of great bargins for the boys for school clothes, so I was satisified. I did miss a few stores but the boys were tired and ready to head back to the beach. We took some family pictures on the beach before we took a long walk. I think we ended up walking atleast 4 miles tonight. Kylan ended up losing his flip flops, but atleast that it all it was. Another enjoyable day!

Shopping

Today we headed to the beach first thing, of course! Kylan buried his daddy in the sand, and Jace just played in the sand today, no ocean for him. The waves were a lot of fun, but kind of rough. In fact, dad got hit with a wave strong enough to knock his glasses off. They were attached to one of those string things that held them on really well, until today. Of course we never found them. I felt really bad for him. He just hasn't had the best of luck this week. Poor guy! Along came some pretty stormy looking clouds and some rain so we headed inside. We decided to go shopping a little and hit Target and Michael's. Boy do I wish we had a Michael's here. I bought lots of cute stuff at both places. I got the boys some clothes for school as well. We decided to hit the beach again later for a nice walk and to take Kylan crab hunting. John and Kylan even got brave and touched some jellyfish. Some teenagers were picking them up and said that kind didn't sting. Who knows??? After crab hunting we got to see a few fireworks. Other than that not much to report when you are relaxing at the beach! :)

Pensacola National Naval Aviation Museum & home

Today we started off the day by loading up the vehicle and proceeding to head home. So sad....we really did want to cry. It has been a great vacation and really, who ever wants to leave the beach. After packing up we decided on one last walk on the beach. We went to a different spot for this last walk and Kylan was super excited to finally find a few shells. We were then going to head to a park and play area for the boys but never could find the exact location. A lady had told us about it, but oh well. We decided to go a little out of the way and head to Pensacola to the Natioanl Naval Aviation Museum. It was very interesting, and the best part...FREE!!! I was shocked, and so glad that we had decided to go ahead and stop. Kylan had a blast here. If you are a history buff you would love it. We seriously could have spent a whole day there if we would have looked at every single thing and read everything. Kylan and John went on a simulated ride which they said was neat. The boys also got to enjoy getting inside some of the planes and pushing buttons, etc. I even decided to crawl in one to see what it was like. Very neat! It was a lot of fun and I would totally recommend it if you ever get the chance to stop by there. We got out of there spending less than $20 and that was for the ride and two airplane toys for the boys. Not bad! It also gives you a sense of pride for all those that serve for our country. After the museum, it was on the road again to home. The boys both did very well again on the way home. We got home around midnight. I'm just sad it's already over!

Dad's lost glasses in the ocean: $300+
Kylan's lost flip flops on the beach: $14.50
All of us getting seasick on the dolphin cruise: YUCK!
Getting stung by jellyfish all week: OUCH!
Still having the best time ever with my family on the beach: PRICELESS
