This sweet girl is finally paci free. It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be, but has still been a challenge. Bedtime and riding in the car has been the hardest part. Bedtime at first was an hour later than usual because she would have to be walked around to fall asleep, but now we are back on track with that, thank goodness.

We had a great Christmas, it came and went as fast as always lol. The kids got more than they needed and now we have the task of cleaning out the boys rooms to make room for the new. We opened presents here, then at my parents, and then on to my grandma's house. We went to church service afterwards to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. Then on to John's parents and then my sisters. What a great day!

Just some random things since I haven’t posted much lately……..life is good. My new job is going well….getting in the swing of things. We just had progress reports for all the kiddos. Gatlin is doing well and Kylan is getting better. He got all A’s 1st 9 weeks, but grades are slipping somewhat. He just can not maintain focus in the classroom. We have been dealing with this since 2nd grade, and have finally decided to try ADHD medicine. It breaks my heart to put him on it, but he needs it bad. He has also failed his hearing again. We will have to see an ENT soon, but not sure what will be the outcome. He has already had 4 sets of tubes for fluid and the last set, his eardrums were so thin because of all of the sets we have had to do. Not sure they will be able to do a 5th set. Kylan is fighting us on taking medicine, not really sure what he has heard about it. He did start taking it, but thinks he is taking it for allergies. He is bringing his grades back up since he has started the medicine. He is on week 3 and his teacher seems to think it is helping. I agree. When doing homework now we spend 30 minutes with little to no frustration, where as before it would be 2-3 hours to get a 15 minute assignment done with tears. Anyway, keep us in your prayers, this is a big step for us and a scary one. Jace is in the top of his pre-K class and is very well behaved. Klaire is also in the top of her class. She is the only one, according to her teachers, who can sing and remember the songs with them. She is saying sentences like crazy at 19 mths. Just this morning, she told me…”I tore it up” and “I dropped it mommy.” She has impressed me soooo much with her speech. Of course this is coming from my last kid who wouldn’t talk till he was almost 3. She has great fine motor skills as well. Potty-training however, is a completely different story. HA! I know she isn’t two yet, so no rush, but she is showing ALL the signs of being ready….but is STUBBORN!!! She is staying dry through naptime and bedtime. She tells me when she is wet or poopy. She will sit on the toilet and has even peed in it a few times. She pulls off her diaper all of the time too. UGH!!! Hopefully Spring Break right before her birthday we can get this goal accomplished. Sorry for such a long post!!!

Southern Angelic Pageant

Klaire had her first Christmas pageant for this year and did very well. There were 11 girls in her age division and she pulled 1st alternate and Photogenic Queen. Her friend Madi that we do pageants with ended up 0-3 Supreme. So proud of our girls.

Lori and I took the girls to see the Princesses at the Convo Center. We both had a rough start and got there a little late, but the girls loved it. Klaire did really well and didn’t get antsy until intermission time. We got up and visited other friends there, and then went back and was able to sit through the rest of the show.

This time the whole family went. John and Kylan enjoyed it on the third grade field trip, so we thought it would be fun to take all the kiddos. They loved the animals and would have stayed their the entire time if we would have let them. We went through the corn maze, and didn’t do bad. 16 minutes to find our way out! We only bought one pumpkin, but it was huge. We let Jace pick it out since Kylan got to pick out one when he went on his field trip. Hope to be able to go every year.

We did a pageant to help out a needy family today. We went to have a fun time. There were huge divisions & we knew that going in, but it was for a good cause. Klaire ended up Queen out of 11 girls. We were super proud!! Her friend Madi also got Queen out of 11 in her division! What a great day!

Kylan and John went on a 1 day Mission Trip to Mena, AR with our church. I was so proud of my guys for what they did. I can’t wait until all the kiddos are old enough for us to go as a family! God is so good and I would love to help with Mission work in order to serve him!

John went with Kylan on his first 3rd grade field trip for the year. They went to Peebles farm. They said they had a great time. There was a corn maze and they got to pick cotton. They also got to bring home a pumpkin.

Can’t believe Miss Priss is a year and a half old! Wow has this year and half flown by! Halfway to two is unbelievable!! Klaire now has 10 teeth and has moved up to size 5 diaper. She is between a 5 and 6 in shoes and is between sizes in clothes as well. 18-24 are really too small, but some 2Ts are still big. I can’t believe how much more Klaire is talking too. I would say she could say over 150 words by now and is starting to remember things/scenes/words from movies she watches in the car. Her favorite show is Yo Gabba Gabba. She is such a character.

Well, I am now 30!! Wow, I feel old, lol!! I remember as a teenager babysitting kids of 30-something year olds and thinking wow, I can’t ever imagine being there. Well, now I am there. HA! I have to admit, it has been a little difficult turning 30, but if this decade is as good as the last then I will be beyond blessed and am looking forward to it!

Klaire competed in a prelim for a State Pageant today. She won Overall Natural Queen over the entire pageant as well as Most Beautiful,Prettiest Smile, and won Outfit of Choice. Along with those titles she won her beauty fee paid and a $100 savings bond if she chooses to compete at the state pageant in April.

Kylan never could decide if he wanted to do a party or not…..so I talked him into taking some of his friends to the movies and a couple of them staying the night. That worked great for him and was much less stressful lol! We took him, Jace, and 4 of his friends to a movie. He invited one little girl that he has a crush on. I thought it was cute. Not ready for dating yet though, ha! Anyway, two of the boys stayed the night. We took them to see Dolphin Tale. It was a cute movie and the kids seemed to enjoy it. Plus who doesn’t like movie popcorn!! I can’t believe my oldest is 9!!! What a joy he has been!

Klaire competed in Little Miss Jonesboro today. I was not expecting her to even place. It is a big pageant for our area and lots of competition. She ended up doing an awesome job and taking home the crown for her division. She also got most beautiful and best dressed. She will also get to ride in the Jonesboro Christmas Parade. She really made us proud!

The boys are both playing soccer again this fall. They love playing but so far Jace hasn't been as aggressive as he normally is on the field. It may be because he is one of the oldest and most of his teammates have never played before so the team doesn't really know what they are doing. They are having fun though and that is all that matters!

Baby girl is almost a year and a half old! WOW is all I can say!! She is almost in a size 5 diaper. She also just jumped from a 3 to a 5 in shoe size in the last 2 wks! She is wearing mostly 18-24 mths, but can wear some 2T depending on the brand. She now has 8 teeth and she is talking non-stop. Not a lot of sentences, but I would say well over 30 words. Daycare has really bragged on how well she talks and how many words she can say. They are also bragging on the fact that she already holds her crayons correctly, ha! Guess working with big bro Jace on writing his name pays off, lol! She eats just about anything. She still takes her paci at home, but at daycare only at naptime. She has not cried yet when I have dropped her off so far, which has been a blessing after being off all summer with me! Makes my day much smoother. Klaire is such a joy and soooo girly. She loves carrying her babies around and playing with jewelry, purses, phones etc. She will put something on and say “pretty!” Makes my heart smile! She loves her brothers and can be a stinker to them. It is amazing how much of a “toddler” she is now!!

We later found out that the girl who won was actually 3 and in the wrong division. So Miss Priss would have Queened. Bummer!! I am still proud of my prissy girl! She also got Best Model for a side award!

4th Of July Holiday

We had a very busy holiday weekend. Thursday Kylan stayed the night with his friend Eli and they went swimming and to the movies to see Cars 2. I knew he wouldn't be able to keep that a secret from Jace so we took him and Klaire Thursday night to see it as well. Friday we took Klaire to the Dr. for her 15 mth shots/check-up. She was 23 lbs. Saturday Klaire, her friend Madi, Madi's mommmy Allison and I headed for yet another pageant. We don't typically do but 1, maybe 2 a month, but we won't be doing anymore until possibly Sept. so we have been doing more lately. This one was defiantly more than what we are used to. It included 3 outfit changes and Supreme titles. It was an experience for sure! She ended up getting Queen in her division, which I was super pleased with. When we got home John and I took the kids to Joe's Crab Shack and Gigi's for cupcakes. We met our preacher and his wife and son up there and they joined us. We had a lot of fun and the kids were so very well behaved. An elderly gentleman even came over and bragged, which never happens!! LOL! Sunday was church and then we had supper at the preacher's house (the whole church) and then we stayed late and did fireworks with the kiddos. Monday we ate lunch at mom and dad's and then supper at John's parents, and then off to the Fairgrounds to watch fireworks. What a busy few days it has been!!

Miss Priss is 15 mths today. She has cut one 15 mth molar this week and her other front tooth. She is not up to 4 and 2 more on the way! FINALLY, lol! She is saying a ton of words....some that come to mind are momma, dada, Jace, Gat gat, bye bye, gone gone, more, outside,more, ball, baby, stop, quit, cup, What's that?, papaw, meme, hello, dog, no....and I am sure more, but that's all I can think of for now. She is size 4 diaper and eats like she has never had food at every meal. I swear she eats more than the boys do. She is not picky at all! Thank goodness none of them have been. Her fav. foods are fruits like grapes, watermelon, strawberries, etc. She loves to play with her baby dolls and her brothers. She is still quite a momma's girl. I can't believe how much of a "toddler" she is now. It really blows my mind!! Love this sweet girl and so blessed to have her to complete our family.

Kylan had his award ceremony for 2nd grade at school. He received an award for being on the Honor Roll for all A’s & B’s all year. This broke my heart in a way b/c he has had all A’s all year until the last 9 wks when he received his first B, but at the same time I am super proud b/c he is on the honor roll after all. He has also been accepted into the G.T. program, and earned a medal for perfect attendance (as well as a certificate & $20!). I am one proud momma!

I still can’t believe that my baby boy is 4 years old! Such a fun age! We did a pirate theme for his party and invited a few of his daycare friends for the first time ever. He loved passing out pirate swords/patches & hats to his friends. We had it at our city park. The weather was suppose to be yucky with a 60% chance of rain but luckily it didn’t rain at all. He had a great time and it was a fun theme to buy for. We had the cutest invites made by Distinctly Pink and the best cookies by Cookies Are My Canvas. Both are on my blog list!

Kylan’s class went to the Memphis Zoo for their last 2nd grade field trip. John signed up to be a watchdog at school for the trip. I decided to take a personal day & take Jace & Klaire to make a family trip out of it. It was also Jace’s 4th birthday, so a fun thing for him to do on his special day! We had a great day & the weather was nice. Afterwards we had to make a stop at Gigi’s for cupcakes. YUMMY!!!

Klaire got up at her normal early time so we got up and got ready and headed to I town for a birthday party at Pump-it-up for one of Jace’s school buddies. It was his first time there and he loved it. John, Kylan, & Gatlin went to Lowe’s while we Klaire, Jace & I partied. Afterwards, we went & rode horses. I say we, but it was just me and Kylan. I still can’t get Jace on one. I haven’t been able to ride in years for lack of opportunity, but I LOVED it today just as much as I always have. I can’t wait to go again. We then got groceries, ran some errands, and then stopped at John’s parents for a few minutes. It was a hectic, but nice day.

Lots of reason to celebrate today…I had to take Klaire for a recheck on her iron since it was low on her 1 yr. check-up. It had come up 2 pts. and was in the range they liked, however her DR. still wants us to continue the supplements for one more month to build it up even more. So, though as little as it seems, a reason to celebrate anyway. After her DR. appt. we headed home for Jace’s ball game and then dropped off the kids at our house & my parents cam over to babysit! (THX GUYS!!) John & I went out to eat with Angela & Jeremy for a night out. We celebrated John’s bday with supper at Chili’s (thx AA & Jeremey! we LOVE you guys!) and then we headed to Target for some shopping!!

9 year anniversary

John & I celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary today. I say we celebrated, but we actually are not celebrating until this weekend. My parents are keeping the kids for us so that we can go out on a date to eat/catch a movie with friends. I am blessed to have 9 years of marriage with a man who looks to God for guidance and who takes care of me and our kids! Thank you Lord for all of your blessings! Klaire also turned 13 mths. old today. I will not note everything about her mths now that she is past a year, except for maybe a few general things, lol. She is staying around 20-21 lbs. Sis is still in sz 3 diapers, tho we will probably go up to 4 next time we buy. We have bought diapers once now. It was a HUGE blessing to go her first year with no costs for diapers and then not using formula. She is down to nursing only once a day and takes milk the rest of the time, along with water, and one cup of juice with her iron supplements. She sleeps through the night at times but most days she still does not. Hard to believe she is entering toddlerhood!!

Ok, so first off I didn't get one single family pic! UGH!! Oh well~ we had a great Easter Sunday. The kids got up and got their Easter basket treats, and then off to Gammy & Papaw's for an egg hunt. Then we celebrated the true meaning of Easter at church. The kids also had egg hunt #3 there. Afterwards we went to John's parents to celebrate his birthday (which fell on Easter this year) and have an egg hunt there. Jace ended up being the only one that hunted out of my kiddos, lol. We came home and went fishing until late. The kids LOVE fishing!! What a blessed day it was! Thank you Lord for what you did so that we may have eternal life through you!

The kids did egg hunts today at their daycare. Mom went with Klaire and John went with Jace. I think they had fun, wish I could have been there!! CRAZY! That's all I can say about how fast K's first year has gone by!! She is meeting so many milestones every day! This sweet girl is 21 lbs and growing like a weed, though still tiny. She says mama, dada, Meme (John's mom), bye bye, go, outside or "side" as she says, lol, and baby. Not a lot, but sweet all the same. She still has only one tooth, bless her, it's going to be rough when they all come in at once!! Sleeping is come and go. For a couple of weeks she would sleep through the night in her room, and then some nights she ends up with us. She is taking whole milk and still nursing 2-3X a day. No bottles, only sippy cups. She is also taking 1 cup of juice a day, only because her iron is low and she needs it with the supplements to help absorb the iron, as well as mask the taste. She is still in size 3 diaper and is wearing 18-24 mths clothes, size 3 shoe. She is eating all table foods and is not picky. She shovels food every meal like she has had it for the first time. She loves to play with hair, and constantly has both her hands in mine. She also has a stuffed horse that she is growing fond of and loves baby dolls. She has really completed our family, and I thank God everyday for all of my kiddos!

We celebrated Klaire's birthday a day early. Her theme was hot pink/white/black leopard & zebra prints. All in all, I believe we had a little over 30 family members & friends. Poor baby though was NOT impressed with everyone singing to her. She started screaming as soon as we started. But boy oh boy was she a BIG GIRL when it came to open presents! Miss Priss is starting young, HA! Anyway, we had a wonderful celebration & can't believe it came so fast!

Date night

I met the girls (Shea & Chan) at the mall for a play date. It was a little hectic and the kiddos were more restless than usual. (And I only had Klaire for most of the time) Mackey took the boys out to eat and then had ice cream before meeting me at the mall. That night John & I went out for a date night. My parents kept the kids. We went and saw Just Go With It. It was a cute movie and it was nice to have a night out. We haven't left Klaire much since I have been nursing, but since she is almost 1 we are cutting back and introducing the cup more. :)

HOGS Baseball

John, Klaire, & I went to the Hogs baseball game tonight. It was the first baseball Hogs game that we have been too. The boys didn't want to go, so I decked Miss Priss out and we followed Andrea & Mackey up there. We had a great time and even got to visit with Shea, Jeremy, & Madden at the game as well.

So I have been TERRIBLE about blogging lately.....so here are some updates....Andrea & Mackey lost their house to a fire. :( They are devastated and tired but making it. They stayed at mom & dad's for a few days until they could get moved back into Andrea's old house. Say a prayer for them. God has plans for them!! In other news, Klaire finally has a tooth coming in on the bottom. I can see it, but it has not broken the surface. She is also sleeping in her room, in her crib, now. She got back in bed with us once in the last 7 nights, but still a MAJOR improvement. 3 of those nights she even slept through the night w/o getting up, which is a HUGE ordeal for us!! We had almost forgot what sleep was, lol!! Not much else going on...planning/preparing for the big #1 for Miss Priss. So hard to believe!!!

Klaire ~ 11 months

Can't believe Miss Priss is one month away from her first birthday!!! She eats almost all table or "real" food. She is also in the bigger classroom at school. She has taken her first steps, but is still nervous about walking. No teeth STILL!! She has also has started sleeping in her bed again (but will not promise that it will last, lol) She blows good kisses, does big waves, rolls pattycakes, and claps. Oh and will shrug her hands when she say "I don't know"....too funny! Her hair is finally getting longer though she still needs more in the front. Her fav. baby food (when she eats it) is Ham and veggies. She takes two 6 oz. bottles at school and nurses twice at home. She drinks water from her sippy and has not had juice yet. She is not a picky eater at all. She loves everything and eats sooooo much! Every where we go people are shocked at how much she eats to be such a petite little girl. She gets mad when you stop feeding her and she is still hungry. She probably eats more than the boys do, lol. She now weighs almost 21 lbs. She is in size 3 shoes and 12-18 month clothes, though 12 month pants are really short on her. She is also in a "playing with hair" stage. If she is being held she has her hand tangled in the hair of whoever is holding her. She still likes her paci, but doesn't have it 24/7. She is a blessing for sure and her smile just lights our worlds!

It was a year ago this month when John's lung collapsed for the first time. Now, there has been a second time. We knew there was a 50/50 chance of a reoccurance, but of course we had hoped it wouldn't. John started feeling funny Thurs. but thought maybe he pulled a muscle. By 9 that night he said he was going to the ER. He drove to his mom's and they took him to the ER. Collapsed lung for sure, and even worse this time. So, of course by this time I couldn't very well drive up. So his parents stayed with him until about 1:30 and then had to go home. No where to sleep and he didn't get his own room until 4 in the morning. I got the kids situated and went up Friday morning and stayed almost all day. I came for a couple hours to nurse and then headed back up. The only room available was on the oncology unit, which of course kids under 14 couldn't be in. So, bringing them up was not an option. I stayed as long as I could and left to go home around 10:30. John's mom stayed the night with him. I stayed the night with him Saturday night after I called and got in moved to a new room where the kids could come up. Boy was it frustrating trying to pump/nurse during the hospital stay. I am still trying to catch up and build my supply back up! Saturday night also marked the first time for Klaire to stay the night with anyone other than us. I held up well though. Phyllis brought her up first thing Sunday morning and she spent the rest of the day at the hospital until we got released after they took his two chest tubes out. We were dismissed at 9:30 Sunday night. Whew, what a long weekend (that would have any other time FLOWN BY, lol!) I took off today to help John. He had a great first night at home and a great day today. In a little pain tonight but all in all, doing really well. He goes back tmrw for another chest x-ray. Thank you all for your prayers for us!!

Perfect Attendance Field Trip

Kylan got to enjoy a field trip to pump it up for perfect attandance the first quarter. I took a personal day to go with him. We then spent the rest of the day together just the two of us. He wanted to go to Fugi for lunch and he LOVED it! It was delicious and lots of fun. We then headed to the mall for candy!! I love that I got to spend some one on one time with him today. It doesn't happen often!

Kylan accepted Jesus as his Savior tonight!! It brings more joy to my heart than anything to know this. John & I talked to him and prayed with him to make sure he fully understood what he felt. He is very young, but then again I was 7. Our preacher talked with him as well and felt that yes, he was ready. He will be baptized this coming Sunday. Praise you Jesus for your many blessings!!

and I don't mean a broken bone!!! Klaire woke up this morning with an allergic reaction. After talking with the pediatric clinic we are thinking she is allergic to her antibiotic that she has been on for her ear infections. Jace is allergic to the same kind, so I mentioned that when they prescribed it for her. The doc. said that it may take several days to show signs of a reaction but that hopefully she wouldn't have one. Well, no luck of course. Oh well, it could seriously, always be worse! Thanking the good Lord for watching over us!

Klaire ~ 10 Months

Klaire is 10 months today! Again this month I say WOW!! Klaire went to the doc. last week and was 19.8. She is "talking" or babbling like crazy. She is now standing on her own for several seconds at a time and of course cruising the furniture like crazy. She is beginning to tire of baby food and is really loving table foods. She usually eats one piece of bread every day. She loves to eat vegetables like green beans, corn, carrots, etc. She is still in size 3 diapers, and we are almost out of ones recieved as baby shower gifts, but oh what a blessing to have gone this long!! She has almost quit nursing through the night, for about a week now. She takes two pumped bottles at school and nurses the rest of the time. She loves to play with my hair when she is tired. I have started planning for her first birthday......so hard to believe. Love my Miss Priss!

The BIG reveal

Well, tonight was the BIG gender reveal party for Andrea & Mackey! They had a great turnout, I would say over 50 guest for sure. We did a football theme...team PINK vs. team BLUE, & they even wore ref outfits. Too cute! We visited and ate until it was finally time to cut the cake and reveal that Andrea & Mackey are having a.........BOY!!! I am excited for them and can't wait to hold my sweet NEPHEW!!!

Klaire woke up with a temp of 102.6 soooo I decided to go ahead and take her to the clinic today. I didn't want her ears to get as bad as Jace's if it was her ears. Turns out........YEP, double ear infections. YUCK! Soooo now I have 2 kiddos on antibiotics!! We go back in 2 wks for rechecks on both of them. Keep praying!

Prayers for Jace

The last two days Jace has been complaining with his ear as soon as he gets up from nap at school. By the time we get home he has already quit complaining and plays as normal. Well, last night he was great until around 9ish. He cried until after midnight with his ear. Then when I got him up this morning he had blood coming out of his ear. :( We had school so I sent him to daycare and told them I planned to get him an appt. as soon as school was out, but that if he started complaining I would call my MIL to come get him until his appt. Well, needless to say I pulled up to school just to be told that school was cancelled. Soooo, I went back to daycare & picked up Klaire & Jace and then we luckily got in to the clinic. I also decided to try and get him in to the dentist to check on his tooth that he fell and hit at Christmas. (Don't remember if I ever posted on that or not???) We got to the clinic (he never complained at all, such a big boy to be in pain) and sure enough he has a perforated eardrum in his left ear and an infection in his right. They gave him an oral antibiotic, ear drop antibiotics, and a cough medicine with codeine to help with the ear pain. Of course I feel like a terrible mommy because we have just been treating with over the counter ear drops & Motrin thinking it would go away. UGH!! Anyway, afterwards we headed straight to the dentist where Jace got x-rays and his teeth cleaned. He was sooooo good. Anyway, the nerve in his front tooth is dead, sooooo he gets a crown the end of Feb. Poor thing, hoping all of this sickness with our family goes away soon.....we have had the stomach bug, me strep, Jace the stomach bug, John a viral infection, and then now the ears with Jace. Klaire has been running temp off and on too, we think either viral or teething??? So, if you have a moment, add us in your prayers please!!

Klaire particiapated in another pageant today. She did a great job and won most Photogenic and 1st Alternate. I couldn't have been more pleased. It is hard competing against babies that are already walking and showing personality so I was excited! The little girl who won Queen was walking and saying bye, waving, blowing kisses.....so cute! My friend Allison's little girl competed in the 2-3 yr. division and won most Photogenic and Queen for her division! Way to go Madi!!

Klaire ~ 9 months

Miss Priss is 9 months old. She weighs 18.10 and is 27 inches long. She is in size 3 diapers, and still has NO TEETH!! She is getting to wear she wants "real" food, and loves bread. I haven't given her a lot yet, but she does like mashed potatoes, rice, and peas. She still wakes up to nurse 1-2 times a night, more of a habit than anything. I just can't take letting her cry it out. She is still pulling up to everything and is starting to cruise furniture. She has added saying uh-oh and momma to her vocab. and if you ask her if she is a good girl she shakes her head no. Too funny. I have to say she is a spunky one. She likes to slap already (I can't imagine what terrible twos will bring!) She still loves her momma, but will finally go to others without crying. She is a great baby, but again has a temper if you take something away from her. Love this girl!

Oh what fun it is to get up before 7!! Lol! The boys woke up bright and early of course. My parents came over and Andrea came over to do our Christmas. They all got way to much and way more than they needed. We are really blessed and I thank God for all he has given us.

We spent Christmas Eve at John's Aunt Fonda's like we do every year. The kids got to open one present each and the adults played Dirty Santa. We had a lot of fun! We then came home and went to my parents for time with family that were in for Christmas. Then home to leave out cookies & milk for Santa & reindeer food for the reindeer! LOVE Christmas!!
